God's Opportunities

ZakiyaSays...

We all have moments in life where frustrating, odd, and even confusing things happen to us. At which point we often question the purpose of why these things occur. We question why we run into traffic when we're in a rush, why the snow storm traps us inside our homes for days, why we always seem to have more month left than money, etc. I too have been guilty of these offenses, but as I grow more in the knowledge and grace of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ, I am learning to change my perspective! I've come to realize that God allows many opportunities, including those previously mentioned, in order for us to look to Him. God wants us to stand on His many promises such as Romans 8:28: "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose."

We must realize that we always have an opportunity to be used by God as well! Even in the most mundane of situations, God speaks to us and shows us His glory. Sunday evening in a twinkling of an eye, God sent a great rain storm our way, that knocked out our power! As my husband and I looked out the patio door window, watching the debris fly violently around the yard, and the rain crashing down on our roofs and ground, God spoke to me and reminded me that He is in control!! I was actually humored by how God allows these acts to happen in order to remind the world that He truly is in control of all things! I didn't stop there however, but I shared this revelation with my husband and friends. I'm grateful for the opportunity that God has given me to marvel at His great works, glory, and power, and to share it with others.

I urge you all to recognize God's opportunities in your life. Pray for wisdom to make every opportunity count. Ask God for the strength to share experiences, fears, passions, hurts, etc. with others so that..." they may see your good works and glorify the Father in heaven." Be willing to be used by God however He sees fit, and be an awesome witness for Him. Seize your opportunities today! Be blessed in the name of the Lord!
